One Thousand Days
03:06
|
|||
Been down so long I can't remember my name
And each and every day they feel the same
I’ve never been so weary and burdened before
Tomorrow I’ll be coming back for more
The fat old foreman keeping me on a leash
It's such a shame that money don’t grow on trees
The sun’s not even out I’m breaking my back
I know my train is running off the tracks
Seems like I’ve been here for a thousand days
And if I break down right now there’ll be hell t’ pay
It’s hot and sticky on this dusty road
Don’t know if I can manage this heavy load
I’m losing faith I know the end is nigh
And if I stumble will you hold me tight
Seems like I’ve been here for a thousand days
And if I break down right now there’ll be hell t’ pay

Chrome and Neon
04:55
|
|||
My dear old friend
A rotten soul that’s always been as dark as mine
As bent and twisted as mine
My lifelong friend
Who keeps my secrets from the world
Don’t let me walk in there alone
Cos they’ll never let me go
They’ll never release my tortured soul
I know a place of perdition with
A hundred evil silhouettes against the walls
I know a place of premonition where
Chromed bars and neon lights can
Melt a man’s very soul
My dear old friend
Whose fate is linked to mine until the end of time
Our hearts don’t know no peace of mind
Our flesh is made of black mud and slime
Our body has no bone, no spine
I know a place of perdition with
A hundred evil silhouettes against the walls
I know a place of premonition where
Chromed bars and neon lights can
Melt a man’s very soul
My good old friend
A partner in crime every time I fight my curse by day
Can’t you help me go straight?
Don’t let the demons possess me
Cos’ they’ll never let me get away
I know a place of perdition with
A hundred evil silhouettes against the walls
I know a place of premonition where
Chromed bars and neon lights can
Melt a man’s very soul

Tuesday
02:53
|
|||
It’s only Monday
Wish it was Tuesday
It feels my time will never come
It’s only Monday
Wish it was Tuesday
I’ll be happy when he’s gone
It’s only Monday
How I wish it was Tuesday
It feels my time will never come
I ain’t got no money
But I got what you want
You need something he gives you not
You use me then you leave me out
And every evening
When the sun goes down
I put my boots on
And I walk out to roam the streets of town
I see you walk down the street
And there’s no one there
I stalk and follow you but
You don’t even care
I just need to wait for one more day
A few more hours
A world of pain
You’ll Let me in when he’s away
It’s only Monday
Wish it was Tuesday
It feels my time will never come

Vagabond
03:07
|
|||
I am the eternal vagabond
And I roam from town to town
Yes, I’m the eternal vagabond
Oh, and I drift from town to town…
You know I hide my past behind me
And I bury it in the ground
My soul was made of water
But my heart was made of steel
Oh, yes, my soul was made of water
But my heart was made of steel
But I’ve got some good ol’ lovin’ for ya
It’s the only way I feel
Will I ever find my place and settle down
Or am I to roam the earth and look around?
I’d hate to see you walk in someone else’s arm
But I swear I never meant you no harm
I said my soul was made of water
But my heart was made of steel
I said my soul was made of water
But my heart was made of steel
And I’ve got some good ol’ lovin’ for ya
It’s the only way I feel
Only way I feel
Only way I feel...

Witch Doctor
04:47
|
|||
The old man went to see his witch doctor
And asked him please….
Please tell me what’s going on
‘Cos my chest is a-heaving
And the sparkle in my eye is gone
I feel an itch that won’t be soothed
It’s a thirst I cannot quench
I feel a pain that won’t be eased
Cannot get up from my wooden bench
The old man went to see his witch doctor
And asked him please….
Please tell me what’s going on
Feels like some juju hit me hard
Right on my head, right on my head with an atom bomb
He swore he’d be doing anything it takes
Looking for some kind of voodoo remedy
I feel an agony deep in my gut
That won’t let me live my life in peace.

Swamp Thing
04:51
|
|||
It breathes, it eats
and when it’s pitch black
It dreams
It has a soul
It has a face
It disappears without a trace
The fog's thick
The sky’s aflame
Does he feel lost without a name?
Is it the hunger?
The need for a home?
Or is it winter gnawing at his bones?
The swamp is my world
It is who I am
The swamp is my world
It is what I am
You feel a presence
But never get to see me
Hiding under the surface, water steaming
Hundreds of shadows
Vanish in the night
Worse horrors heralded by the light
The swamp is my world
It is who I am
The swamp is my world
It is what I am
I was a man
I know what they do
Don’t bring your evil here, I warn you
Anger I feel
Nothing forgiven
Down highways in the dark, by demons driven
The swamp is my world
It is who I am
The swamp is my world
It is what I am
Beware of the wrath of... The Swamp Thing!

Little Bit of Rain

Little Bit of Rain - Fred Neil
If I should leave you
Try to remember the good times
Warm days filled with sunshine
And just a little bit of rain
And if you look back
Try to forget all the...
Try to forget all the bad times
Lonely blue and sad times
And just a little bit of rain
Oh, just a little bit of rain
Oh, yes, just a little bit of rain
Not a single cloud in the sky
Just a tiny bit of rain once in a while
If I should leave you
Try to remember the good times
Only warm days filled with sunshine
And just a little bit of rain
Oh in the morning
Just a little bit of rain
Cloudless in the evening
Just a little bit of rain
Just a little...
Just a little, just a little bit
Just a little...
Just a little bit of rain...

Right On
04:01
|

Never judge lovers
By good looking covers
Plain and simple fool’s gold
You just wanna tease me
Won’t come down to please me
The way you used to do before
Gonna make my move
I said I’m gonna take my chances
Take off and move right on
Always taking orders
Always taking warnings
The Man got you under his thumb
Oh, boy come and do this
Boy go and do that
Oh, man I sure have had enough
Gonna make my move
I said I’m gonna take my chances
Take off and move right on
The preacher man tells me
And your father reminds me
What I should and should not do
Promises to heal me so
I won’t shed no tears
On nobody’s shoulder no more.
Gonna make my move
I said I’m gonna take my chances
Move right on

Leavin' Memphis
03:24
|
|||
Early in the mornin’ it was drizzling rain
‘round the curve came a passenger train
Under the wheel was KC Jones
A mighty man found dead and gone
Some folks say mister KC wouldn’t run
Let me tell you what KC had done
Left out of Memphis, quarter-to-nine
New York City dinner time
On the road again
Looking for a brand new start
In some other city
On the road again
Looking for a brand new start
On the road again
I’m leavin’ Memphis, spread the news
‘Cos Memphis women don’t wear no shoes
My name is written on the back of my shirt
No home to go to, no need to work
KC told the man just before he died
There’s one more road he’d like to ride
The farmer asked KC, “Which road is he?”
Southern Pacific and Santa Fe
On the road again
Looking for a brand new start
In some other city
On the road again
Looking for a brand new start
On the road again

When the North wind blows
You better lock up your door
Don’t risk to lose
All that you’ve been collectin’
When the blizzard’s on
Stay where you belong
Then you may win back
The friends you’ve been neglecting
Oh, the North wind blows
Yes, the North wind blows
When the north wind blows
You better lock up your door
They may find out
The lies you’ve been perfectin’
When the snow flakes fall
You oughta keep off the road
You don’t want to hate
The folks you’ve been respecting
Oh, the North wind blows
Yes, the North wind blows
The towtruck man never answered my call
I think I’ve been walking in circles in the snow
There’s not a single soul in sight
My bones are freezing in the cold cold night
Oh, no, but I don’t, I don’t feel no pain
When I sense sweet death coming my way
And I can feel it
Oh I can feel it coming now
Oooooh North wind blows
Oooooh North wind blows
